WINX DOMINATES THE CHIPPING NORTON
STAKES - TIPS
There is little to suggest that Winx will not win her fifteenth race on the trot second-up at Royal Randwick on Saturday, but there are still 2017 Chipping Norton Stakes tips to be decided on the placegetters.

Chris Waller’s champion is out to take her Group 1 wins into double-figures with a title defence in the $600,000 Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) over the mile on the weekend.
No arguments, this Street Cry mare is the country’s best miler and she will relish the distance after an emphatic resuming win in the Group 2 Apollo Stakes (1400m) last start.

The line-up of horses racing for second at best behind the freakish five-year-old is similar to what she destroyed last time out and she has plenty more to give with the Grand Final not taking place until the 2017 Queen Elizabeth Stakes on April 8.  Read more at source

Hong Kong Stars to Battle on Sunday at Sha Tin

A pair of top-level races Feb. 26 at Sha Tin will showcase some of Hong Kong's proven stars, including two former Horse of the Year honorees.

Designs On Rome, the 2014 Hong Kong Horse of the Year, and last year's champion, Werther, will meet in the Citi Hong Kong Gold Cup (G1T). At 2,000 meters, the Gold Cup is the second leg of the Hong Kong Triple Crown (for older horses).

John Moore-trained horses swept the top three placings in the series' first leg, the 1,600-meter Stewards Cup (G1T) on Jan. 30 as Helene Paragon, Joyful Trinity, and Able Friend finished 1-2-3. All three of those drop back in distance for Sunday's sprint co-feature, but the stable will also have New Zealand-bred Werther.  Read more at source

The Kentucky Derby trail winds through Arkansas, California and Japan this weekend, while Thursday's action in Dubai went into the books as a potential preview for the rapidly approaching World Cup night.
 
The Presidents Day weekend also features the prestigious 7-furlong sprints at Laurel Park in Maryland, The grassy Buena Vista for fillies and mares at Santa Anita and the Grade III Razorback Handicap at Oaklawn Park.
 
The Global Sprint Challenge gets off and running in Australia on Saturday and Sunday's February Stakes at Tokyo is one of only two top-level dirt races in Japan.  Read more at source
